In the village
A 297-metre fall at the edge of the village. A marked path leads to a gallery in the rock behind the water. Free to visit, bring a jacket for the spray.
Down the valley
Ten glacier-fed waterfalls thundering inside the mountain between Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg. Reached by tunnel lift, open April to November. Reachable by valley bus.
Above the valley
A car-free village on the sunny side of the valley. The Wengernalp Railway runs up from Lauterbrunnen station, on toward Kleine Scheidegg.
Across the valley
A terraced village with the big Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau views. Take the cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp, then the little mountain train onward.
The high route
Ride the Wengernalp line to Kleine Scheidegg, then up to the Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe. Check the mountain weather before you go.
